ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಬೈಕ್ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ಸವಾರರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ರೇನ್ ವಾಹನ ಡಿಕ್ಕಿ ಹೊಡೆದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮೃತ ಗಂಡ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿನಗರದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ಆನಂದ್, ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಬಾಣಸವಾಡಿ ಠಾಣೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Indian Golden Boy Abhinav Bindra made India Proud by claiming gold medal in
Beijing Olympics
on 11th August 2008.

He won the gold medal in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle in Beijing on August 11 with an incredible performance in the final.

Bindra shot a total score of 700.5.


Abhinav has given India the moments of pride after India last won 1980 gold in Olympic in hockey.
Abhinav Bindra became the first Indian individual gold medallist at the Olympics.

He scored 596 (fourth) in the qualifying round and out-scored all other shooters in the finals with a round of 104.5.

Family:

Abhinav Bindra is from an affluent Sikh family, belonging to the Punjabi Khatri clan.

His is the proudly son of Dr.A.S.Bindra and Babli Bindra.

History:

Abhinav Bindra is an Indian shooter specializing in the 10 m Air Rifle event. At the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, he became the first Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games and first gold medal since 1980 for India by winning the gold in the 10 m Air Rifle event.

Sports History:

  • Abhinav has won six gold medals in different international meets in 2001.

  • At the 2002 Commonwealth Games, in air rifle event at Manchester, he won Gold in the Pairs event and Silver in the individual event. Olympic Games,2004 he broke the Olympic record but failed to win a medal. He is a recipient of the Arjuna award in 2001 and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award for the year 2001-2002.

  • Lt. Col. J.S. Dhillon was the first to spot and is his first coach. Apart from being a shooter, Abhinav Bindra holds an M.B.A.

  • Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh today congratulated Bindra and described the feat as a “golden performance”. President Pratibha Patil also congratulated Abhinav Bindra.

  • China Zhu Qinan, gold medalist at Athens 2004, won the silver medal with a total score of 699.7.

  • China had a chance to win its third Shooting gold medal in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle as World No. 1 Zhu Qinan of China will take part in the event. Zhu won the gold medal in the event at Athens 2004.
